Karl Strauss are the oldest surviving brewery in San Diego, having launched on Feb 1, 1989.
Back then their one and only beer - an amber lager - was nothing like the hoppy IPAs that San Diego has become famous for. Nearly thirty years later the Karl Strauss can mix it with the most aggressive and hop-forward Californian beers.
A highlight is their stunning Mosaic Session Ale. Whether it's a session ale is debatable, but what it is, is a great example of a hoppy wheat and a showcase of the Mosaic hop.
